Cabbage, White Bean, Ginger Sage Sausage Soup

Cook and crumble the sausage in a large pot, over medium high heat. When the sausage has almost finished browning, add the onions and garlic. Cook for a few more minutes, until the sausage has browned and the onions are tender and garlic is browned. Add the cabbage, beans, tomatoes, broth, and spices. Stir to combineĀ and bring to a boil. Once boiling reduce to a simmer and cook for about 45 minutes to soften the cabbage.


  • 1 pound hot or mild Veggie Wagon Ginger Sage ground sausage
  • 1 small white or yellow onion, diced
  • 1 small organic green cabbage, sliced into bite size pieces, about 4 cups worth
  • 1 14 ounce can of diced tomatoes
  • 15 oz of cooked or canned northern beans
  • 6 cups chicken or veggie broth
  • 2-3 cloves of finely chopped garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme
