Southern Style Chicken Salad

Waldorf Chicken Salad Recipe

September is National Chicken, Apple and Honey month- so we thought we’d create a chicken salad recipe that encompasses all of these 3 delicious ingredients!


  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Bake walnuts or pecans in a single layer in a shallow pan 6 to 8 minutes or until toasted and fragrant, stirring halfway through.
  2. Once toasted to desired doneness, mix all remaining inngredients together, adding your salt and pepper last. Season to desired perfection and chill prior to serving.


  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 3 cups chopped cooked chicken, rotisserie or boiled
  • 1 cup seedless red grapes, quartered
  • 1 medium Gala apple, diced
  • 1 medium Gala apple, diced
  • 1 cup diced celery
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion
  • 1-2 tsp local Veggie Wagon honey
  • Sea Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
