Ashe County Cheese is North Carolina’s oldest cheese plant located in the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains, and has been producing top quality cheese since 1930. This garlic cheddar is an excellent choice for slicing of a turkey sandwich or just plain old cheese and crackers. The cheese has a very nice and soft cheddar start and then it all changes from there. This unique blend has a mild garlic flavor at the end that is enjoyable and not to potent. Pick up a block and try it for yourself. As this is a handmade product, the cheese weights vary slightly from the 1/2 pound weight.

This herb blended cheese has a great crumbly texture. The cheese does have a very light garlic flavor but not one of the ingredients is over powering. The garlic, chive, and parsley cheese adds a great dimension to salads, and simple pasta dishes. As of all the Ashe County Cheeses, this one is really great just enjoyed alone with some of our fine Sweet and Savory Breads.

Ashe County Cheeses Juusto with Jalapeno Peppers is a buttery-flavored, flat and squeaky cheese. Ashe County Cheese bakes each piece of their Juusto with Jalapeno Peppers to create a sweet caramelized, toasted crust similar to brown bread. Ashe County Cheese Curds are here! Their flavor is mild with about the same firmness as cheese, but has a springy or rubbery texture. Fresh curds squeak against the teeth when bitten into, a defining characteristic, due to air trapped inside of its porous body. Cheese curds are sometimes referred to as “Squeaky cheese” because they squeak in your mouh. Many people enjoy them right out of the bag or after being heated in the microwave for 8-10 seconds.
